The path of the Post : Les Avants – Château d’Oex via Jaman

A historical itinerary following the foot messengers who used the Jaman mountain pass. In the 18th and 19th centuries, these men carried the mail between Vevey and Rossinière, all year round and whatever the weather. Who are they, who did they meet, what were their working conditions? Reading through the archives, writers’ tales and tourists notebooks, we have tried to evoke the life of a way of communication and that of the Morier family who worked for the post.

Françoise Ostermann-Henchoz : Decorator, puppeteer, former depute at the Grand Conseil of Vaud. She has worked for 12 years for the museum of the Vieux Pays-d’Enhaut at Château d’Oex, currently as keeper and exhibit commissioner.
